Rice – brown rice, which also has streaks of green in it, is the whole grain, unlike white rice, which has been milled and lost most of its nutritional value. There are many varieties of Brown rice – short grain, long grain, Basmati, sweet rice (which is better as a breakfast choice than dinner) and all are healthful and fibrous. Brown rice is 7% protein and is acidic. You can make it alkaline by adding roasted sesame seeds to it. Rice is easy to digest.
